Today I want to talk to you about one of the all time most popular exercises in the gym... The Bench Press. For some reason guys seem to have an obsession with the bench press. In fact, the bench press seems to be the measure of man-ly-ness in most gyms. I can't tell you how many times in my life I've been asked, "How much do you bench?" Unfortunately the obession with the bench press has led a lot of people to render their shoulders almost useless. Ask anyone who has been benching for years if they have shoulder problems and I guarantee you that the majority (if they are honest) will have to say YES. By the way, if you are dealing with shoulder pain as a result of doing the bench press... On my DVD I'll show you the stretches and exercises that have completely taken my shoulder pain away. Let me shed some light on the bench press (this is coming from someone who used to bench over 300 pounds and who as a result lived in almost constant pain). The bench press places your body in a very unnatural position. When pushing heavy weights for repitions in this position... over time it will tear you down. Is there an alternative that really works? YOU BET! The truth is, you can get a great chest and arm workout without ever laying down on a bench or picking up a barbell... Using the magic of physics and leverage while doing bodyweight exercises, you can even hit the muscles from many different angles (which is what the incline and decline bench press attempt to do). On the "Make The World Your Gym" DVD I will show you many different exercises that will BLAST your chest and arms... And the great thing is that they can be adapted to fit any fitness level.
