By the way, there is no problem if you submit sitemap.php to SEs, as long as the url listed in the sitemaps are correct (urls to the topics and forums).

Problem is, we do not dev on phpBB2 any more ... So I cannot easily tell you where the problem could be.
In the utf convector function, some char-set are aliases of other, it's possible that the char-set you want is not listed exactly as is in the list but that the mod is still about to deal with it.

The feature is not implemented yet, but that would be a good thing to add. I don't think that it is a problem for sitemaps though, since it still tells which content is the freshest and when it was issued, it's only using GMT.
