Debra Messing says she hates to exercise, but it's doesn't show. What does show is one fit body on the cover of Shape magazine's January 2009 issue.
Debra, star of the TV show The Starter Wife and soon-to-be star of the comedy Nothing Like the Holidays with John Leguizamo (opening December 12), tells Shape about the perfect date with her husband. "My ideal date would be a spectacular meal, maybe Italian, followed by dancing. That's a New Year's resolution I'm looking forward to."
I bet staying fit is a resolution too. The girl may hate exercise but clearly, she's doing something right. Don't you think?

Hey, ladies: If your house sits in Gary, Indiana; Toledo, Ohio; Kansas City, Missouri; Detroit; St. Louis; Cincinnati; Oklahoma City; Indianapolis; Tulsa or Wichita, I'm sorry to tell you that you're living in an unhealthy city. If you want healthy, Bethesda, Maryland is tops. You don't need to move to Bethesda in order to take advantage of what bunches of fit women there are enjoying -- access to good health care, farmers' markets, parks, trails, and fitness centers included. You just need to emulate the habits of those living in cities like San Francisco, Honolulu, and Seattle, also on the fit list.
These cities might be the easiest places to get the job done, but you can be extremely healthy in a city that isn't. No U-Hauls necessary -- just eat plenty of nutritious foods, get a good amount of strenuous exercise, don't smoke, and you'll be well on your way.
What about you -- do you live in an unhealthy city? If so, what do you do to stay fit?
