- Alabama To Host Texas A&M
The Alabama men's basketball team (5-2) continues its month-long home stand with a Saturday night contest against the Texas A&M Aggies (6-1). The two teams will meet on Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. Central Time at Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide is coming off a 61-44 victory over Louisiana and has won four straight while the Aggies edged Arizona their last time out by the score of 67-66. - Alonzo Gee & Brandon Hollinger To Graduate Saturday
Two University of Alabama senior basketball players, guard Alonzo Gee and guard Brandon Hollinger, will receive undergraduate diplomas from The University on Saturday morning as part of Fall Commencement Ceremonies at Coleman Coliseum. Hollinger and Gee have both completed their undergraduate work in three-and-a-half years and will pursue post-graduate work in the spring semester. Hollinger will receive a bachelor's degree in Human Environmental Sciences while Gee will get his diploma in Consumer Affairs. - Alabama Defeats Louisiana, 61-44
The Alabama basketball team used a 15-2 second half spurt to pull away from Louisiana in en route to a 61-44 win at Coleman Coliseum Sunday. With the score 44-38 at the 9:50 mark of the second half, sophomore Senario Hillman knocked down a fade away jump shot to spark the Tide's run. Hillman and senior Alonzo Gee combined for all 15 points during the five minute stretch.
The Tide defense held the Ragin Cajuns to only four field goals in the second half, and for the game Louisiana shot 26 percent from the field. Alabama held Louisiana without a field goal in the second half from the 11:55 mark until the 0:27 mark. During that stretch, the Tide dominated on the boards as well, out-rebounding Louisiana 19-5 over the final 11:28. - Tide To Play Louisiana in Sunday Matinee

The Crimson Tide will square off against the Ragin' Cajuns on Dec. 7 at Noon at Coleman Coliseum. Alabama is coming off of a 64-56 victory over Alabama A&M while Louisiana defeated McNeese State, 73-64. - Tide Defeats Alabama A&M, 64-56
The Alabama mens basketball team (4-2) came up with a stingy defensive effort to overcome a difficult shooting night and beat Alabama A&M (0-3) 64-56 at Coleman Coliseum Tuesday night. With 1:23 left and the Crimson Tide leading by only two, sophomore Demetrius Jemison grabbed an offensive rebound and stuck it back in to give the Tide a 58-54 lead. Alabama made 6 of 8 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
"Obviously it wasn't pretty, but it's a win," head coach Mark Gottfried said. "We all agree in our locker room that we can play better than we did, but at the same time, we did some things at the right time to make sure we secured the win, and that is a positive thing."
